The Legislative session wrapped up last month and in the last several weeks in session, the following Bills were introduced:
- Bill 1, Energy Diversification
- Bill 2, Growth and Diversification
- Bill 5, to Strengthen Financial Security for Persons with Disabilities
- Bill 6, on Cannabis Legalization
- Bill 7, on Alberta’s Local Good Sector and
- Bill 8, an Emergency Management Act
This past session, I have had the opportunity to provide input and ask questions more often than previous sessions in the Legislature. If you are looking for videos and clips of the Question Period, they can be found on the Alberta Party Caucus YouTube channel or you can read the Hansard on the Alberta Legislature Website.
On March 29, I hosted a Budget Town Hall which was well attended by many constituents. There was excellent insights into the 2018-2019 budget which I took to Estimates meetings in Edmonton during the session. I encourage everyone to email or call the office to provide feedback on any bills or matters within the legislature, including any general feedback you may have!
Currently, I am working on a private member’s bill which aims to improve internet access for rural Albertans. Unfortunately, not all Albertan’s have quick access to internet service and this can affect many day to day tasks that is often overlooked by those of us who have quick, easy, and immediate access to internet services. If you have any comments, stories, or concerns you’d like to share with me, please reach out to my office!
I am always happy to hear from you so please feel free to get in touch by phone, email, or drop by our office and say hello!
